Biola Animation:

Basic idea (looking at a photo of the past together?) is interesting, and the poses are fine. Setting up the camera dead ahead, with these characters both squared up to it, is asking for trouble—drawing the characters at a 3/4 instead of dead on front view is much more likely to result in interesting composition and strong silhouettes.

There is a big problem in the main motion—I think what you're going for is the character sitting straight up at first, then bending down at the waist to talk with the kid. But it doesn't actually look like he bends at the waist—it looks like his torso was elongated and he de-elongates it, like he's some very limited version of Mr. Fantastic. In addition to the torso becoming less long, it also seems like the character's entire head/torso/arms are shrinking throughout the scene.
