Description: This is my first 11sec submission, animation practice is always a great thing. Getting to playblast properly at 4:3 on a widescreen monitor is seemingly harder in Maya than I thought. Reading directions is a good thing, especially for framing purposes =P

Experience: 2.5 yrs

Time taken: about 3-4 days in freetime (ahh....."freetime"...what a novel idea =) )

Danny Garnett:

I like the suddle acting you have in here. Watch out when he says ethical implications, the mail goes in front of his face, it seems odd. I like how they work together too, works really well. Nice job

Erik Griott:

the movement is nice. the gold guy doesnt seem to care about the letter being cut, even though he was just ranting about it though.

Freddy Burgos:

Nice job on this piece! I really like the screen-left guy's expression as he cuts it. Cool stuff! One thing I noticed though, throughout was that it felt a bit floaty at parts. Tightening up the timing might help. Also, during the line, "stop for a moment", the hand holding the envelop feels very IKish. I think mostly because it seems to rotate around a single point. A little translation could help here. Great job though. Keep it up! :D

Rich Lauzon:

This is good... I woul have made the attack of the scissors a bit snappier.. even if you wanted the slow sneaking up part....

Taber Dunipace:

Everything moves as if it's underwater, you need much more CONTRAST of timing. Something should move fast and suddenly, others should moves slowly and gradually.

Jett Atwood:

This is fun! They do feel a little mushy but overall a really decent effort.

Marty Cole:

The attitude of the grey dude is spot on, really great work there... The one minor point about him is that the movement starting from frame 105 - 124 which i'm assuming is a sigh doesn't read very well and i don't think it is necessary, if he were to just hold his pose from 105 up to 137 - where he does the great roll of the eyes bit - i think things would be a lot tighter.

And the brown dude works very nicely as well, the way he goes off into his little bit. One quick note would be that he seems to get a little 'floaty' around "Ethical". If he were to hold the pose around 160 for a few frames longer it might help to give him more zip at the accent.

Great work overall, and again the grey guy is spot on.

Goodluck!

Santiago Arellano:

Staging and animation makes difficult to focus on just one character.

Virgil Mihailescu:

hehe, very nice, except that in this version... the 'all done' should have been said by the other guy :D

Theo Edmands:

I like the acting choices a lot, especially on the scissors guy.

Missy Feaster:

Nice. The big sigh is funny. :)

Salvador García Luque:

Very nice sketch, is a nice idea, there is something i don’t like of the lipsync, something about the lips movement.

Aaron Clement:

Good staging. A little floaty in places. Not too bad.

Jan Becher:

Acting could be stronger, but good solution at the end!

Christopher Lutz:

Emotions of the left guy are hard to read.

Isaac Hingley:

there needs to be a bit more snap in the guys arm with the scissors when he cuts the envelope. Too floaty there. great job!

Bilal Ahmad:

nice ending man!

Brad Bradbury:

your actions are coming across as being very floaty. you need to crispen the timing from pose to pose...nice scissors.

Matt Garward:

the animation on the two characters individually is very good. But while the one on the right is talking, the one on the left moves too as much, if not more, so I kept watching him instead of the speaker. Especially around 150 when they both raise their hands and drop down with the same timing... I didn't know where to look. Some really nice animation in this piece though, great work!

Gregory Marlow:

A little floaty.

Victor Wong:

Sync is a little off with the snik. Good acting for the most part, however.

Chris Smith:

Hmmmm...not much "considering" going on (he seemed to snip that envelope pretty quick), but a good effort, nonetheless.
I like it - one of its strengths is that the animation is not overdone, as is often the mistake on this site, IMO.
Can't see TOO much wrong with it. Good animating - good poses and clear movements/silhouettes.
Nice and simple.
Perhaps it lacks a little imagination....?

Roshan.k:

the sitting guy's animation could've been more appealing..ne the hand with the scissors looks a bit floaty..the one standing is great job!nice acting choices !

Christiaan Moleman:

Nice staging! I like how the white guy sort of casually cuts the envelope at the end. Only thing is the whole move including the fluttering of the cut piece of envelope seems a bit slow. I think this is true of a lot of the animation actually. It would benefit from being a bit snappier.

David Shum:

needs work on composition.
rule of thirds :P

animation is looking good. I think you can push it a little harder, in timing and line of action.

Jônatas Kerr de Oliveira:

good animation on the gray guy, but poor lipsync and reactions on yellow one.

Olivier Ladeuix:

what has Brown in mind? What is he tring to achieve? Instead I would have Gray surprise him and cut the letter while he is "monologuing". Nice animation though

Mike Courtney:

The lip-sync on both characters could be improved. They seem a bit floaty. The end poses and reactions are nice.

Max Herzfeld:

The animation is really great, but it's too smooth. There should be more quick and slow, up and down, the kind of contrasts that keep it interesting.
On the whole great job.
