Great work so far! I really like the camera shots and funny situation you put up. It seems like you still haven't finish tweeking the animation yet but it looks really good. I like the way he walks back. The only part I think that could be more stronger and clear is when he shows whats behind his back. Maybe a little more expression on his face or more cynical looking pose. Keep it up this going to be a great animation!
Danny Garnett:
great idea! some of the poses need some work, and the lip sync needs a big more finessing. I think the last cut should be a 2 shot of both characters, it seems like there should be closure for the shot.
Brian Duffy:
great animation, but the action/shot change at the end isn't clear
shamyl:
good all round, very creative... think when he was revealing the knife behind his back it was a little too obvious...
Freddy Burgos:
Great idea! I really like the idea of the oversized envelope. The two characters interact well together too. One thing that threw me off was when he brought out the little knife from his back. I didn't understand what was going on at first. Great idea overall, but I think the reveal of the knife could have been done a little better. I think what threw me off about it was that he just brings it out a bit, but doesn't really acknowledge it. Maybe if he was turned around taking it out of his pocket or maybe just a small glance towards it might help. Also, just a small thing but it feels like Bishop's screen-right arm travels in more or less a straight line when he walks back, I could be wrong though. Maybe push the arcs there a tiny bit more? Great stuff, keep up the awesome work! :) I really like the head shake from Murdock as he goes to continue cutting the letter open.
Steve Sloan:
I like that last pose of him at frame 264, I didn't really get what was going on with the giant envelope but this is a hard clip to make sense of. From what i could tell the lip sync could use more work too, the audio is a bit behind but it looks like it could use more around frame 100. also i didn't like the pose at frame 100, it looks off balance or awkward.
Yeray Díaz Díaz:
The main character behaves very strangely, why does he take out the scissors and then put them away? Also half of the main line is missing
Jett Atwood:
Um, the gag doesn't read and the character seem to be moving almost at random. I don't get a sense they are thinking or even reacting to each other.
Erik Griott:
we cant see any of the important parts of this animation
jeff beck:
I enjoyed it but the character with the garden scissors needs more movement when the other one is moving around
C. J. Cow:
i like the animation, but am having a difficult time reading whats going on
Missy Feaster:
Moves nicely, very fluid, but the acting the with the letter-opener is unclear.
Chris Smith:
Not bad effort.
The right guy could have gestured his knife a little more sharply, bringing it in and out quickly. This gives the actions a bit more "punch".
Camera direction could have been a bit better.
Justin Weg:
too many cuts
Salvador García Luque:
excellent expressions
Taber Dunipace:
The staging and camera cuts in this scene greatly confuse my understanding of the action. Did he cut open that giant letter with that tiny knife? Did he have a good reason? The animation quality is not bad, but the story here is lost on me.
Christopher Lutz:
Animation is OK, but camera cut doesn't really work.
Aaron Clement:
I like the guys smile at the end. A little floaty in places... interesting clip.
Bilal Ahmad:
you could've done a lot better on the poses for bishop
Gregory Marlow:
Animation looks really good but the last two shots dont read that well to me. Who opened the letter?
Victor Wong:
Storytelling is definitely off here, as well as the sync. You can't tell if the scissors or the knife made the cut, and that's important with a track like this. On the positive side, the last scene works well with the right amount of acting and facial expression.
Ryan Hagen:
Good work, I think you could've pushed him a bit at "your talking about" and added some tension there instead of just having go from A to B. I liked the end pose a lot, and really sold the mood, I didn't like the cut shot of the other guy that much though, I think I would've shaken his head a bit while settling to pick up the scissors. Good job, I liked it a lot.
powei hsu:
hello~
srikar:
like the attitude and where its going..but the intension of the second seems a little too obvious..(just an opinion)
John T. Coomey:
This is pretty good, althought its unclear as to why the letter is so big or why they are so small... It think it would have been less staged looking if you had the Bishop character turn away completly as he walked screen right and pull out the letter opener as just before he turns, so he could look at it and then turn around. Ath the moment the reveling of the letter openener looks too strange... Alternatively If you had him walk screen right, turn away and squat down to look at the letter while out of view of the other character pull out the knife and on his last line turn slightly to the other character while concelling the knife further. This woul I think tie into the last shot better and add some nice texture to the animation...
All this said the side step is quite nicely done... good job keep up the good work.
Roshan.k:
nice to see that Huge mail there..lol!! but the animation-timing wise- is more even..u should've made some moves snappy like the guy taking out the knife at the end..nw some moves looks foating...and the camera cuts are distracting..trust me :)
David Shum:
needs another beat before the grey dude to react to the "snip"
Olivier Ladeuix:
I dont really understand what is going on. Bishop is a bit floaty, no enough texture
Carlos Fins:
I think the cuts take away from the performance a lot. Animationwise it's good.. only the way Bishop reveals the knife bothers me a bit. Good work overall, tho!
Mike Courtney:
One of the better entries. The right wrist of the guy on the right seems a bit stiff and floaty. If it's supposed to be a surprise to the other guy that he opens the letter, then he shouldn't smile until after the fact.
Max Herzfeld:
Good but confusing.
Christiaan Moleman:
Not sure what's going on with the camera cuts. Are they both opening it? If so, why?

Animator: Mark Olson
Description: I got the idea to have a large letter. Then came up with the idea that the brown guy wanted to open the mail first.
