[Basics] MC Week 1 - Ball Bounce - Start 6.6.2010/End 6.13.2010
So I figured we'd best start this out with the staple of any animators practice - a bouncing ball.
What to do: Animate a bouncing ball of any weight, or two or more balls interacting
Time limit: Since it is rather simple, the time limit for this weeks competition will be 12 Hours. There is no prize so don't cheat yourself. In the "real world" you would have a time limit/deadline, so use this as practice.
Process: It is okay to take this one past blocking, and in fact is probably necessary.
The last day to turn it in is next Sunday, 6.13.2010. Please only post the link as specified in the FAQ thread.

nice work guys. i had a lot of problem with this simple thing. and still have.. by the way.
but hey... my 10 hours is almost finisht.
maybe its a great idea to add one more topic discussion Work In Progress for the mini challange.
edit: some simple changes to the ball bouncing and timing

i have made two ball bounce animations.
For the first one, i first recorded the audio and proceeded with the animation.its' supposed to be a heavy tennis ball.
The second one is without any squash n stretch..a medium weight plastic ball..just trying to be subtle..

On the second video - everything is happening pretty fast, especially the first fall. And from the angle that its originally falling from, it feels a little weird that is bounces so far to the right. Also feels like its picking up speed after the first wall bounce

@kiopaa looking good.
found the ball a little too stretched after the second collision( with the small wall)
and the ball seems to have lost it's momentum too early.would love to see it rolling.
can you please post it in quicktime??with frame counters??would love to have a closer look.

I hate to say but I can't get .mov file, and the frame counter doesn't render out for some reason. Am I supposed to enable something somewhere?
I feel like there's still a little merit to submitting it seeing as I might grasp some general critique. I'll try again tomorrow in a frame counter and mov.
I'm pretty new at this whole animation thing.

i realy like kiopaa's ball. it realy feels its bouncing like a tennisball to me.

your video looks great but if you look close to the ball it rotates back when it hits the wall.
i think it would be better to let it rotate back when it hits the ground and no rotations between the wall and the first ground hit

spent about an hour and a half on this. realized today was last day so i wanted wip one out real quick. still needs work but u can see that.
