I think your mancandy rig link may be out of date. That is, it may still work, but it refers to an older version.

I'm a LightWave user also, and those rigs are great. On one of the later pages, someone has linked them again. If they are not there, let me know and I can e-mail them. These would be a great addition to the section.

free character rigs are nice. but where do you find info how to make a good character rig?
with facial rigs, bowing ellbows, fk/ik switches? anyone?

You have to know pretty much everything about rigging, or at least the important stuff. There are plenty of free and paid tutorials on the net, just do a bit of searching.

That link to Mancandy is very old ! Blender 2.48 rc1 ! Here is a link for 2.52 Alpha...it works on 2.53 beta.

I don't know about you guys, but I found the best free rigs available on the net a few days ago. it's on youanimator.com
Under download section. They are awesome, and easy to work with. Soo cool.
