Re: Advices needed animation reel

Depends on what kind of studio you'd be interested in working at? Film, TV, games? Your reel right now says to me that you're interested in game animation because of the focus on physical animation and cycles. If you'd rather do mostly acting shots, those need to take priority and showcase that you know all of the stuff you have in those shorter clips (weight, physical acting etc). Your last acting shot is good, but I'd push their facial animation and work on the guy a little more, his hand gestures seem a little fast. I'd still put it earlier (if you wish to do acting animation) because it shows more about your skill level than some of your shorter clips.

Re: Advices needed animation reel

Thanks for the replie smile.
For now i'm not searching something in particular, but if i had the choice, film or tv serie would be great. I'm actually working on acting, october competition and some other stuff so step by step i'm improving (never did acting before).
For my reel i wanted to show that i worked on various rig and characters but if i understand you i should focus on something in particular, like acting ?
If possible i would like to have critics on my walk cycle and the weight animation.
Thanks !

Re: Advices needed animation reel

As snuffy said, it depends on what your focus is and what sort of animation you're aiming for.

In general, I think good reels show a firm understanding of physics, and a strong demonstration of the 12 principles of animation, particularly strong arcs, strong key poses, and good eases.
