Request for feedback for Feb 2017 submission

Hi everyone,

Would really appreciate some feedback/critiques on my Feb 2017 submission if anyone has time. Even a sentence or two would be great.

My submission was ranked 83. http://www.11secondclub.com/competition … ry/EXKUTK/

Thanks!

I'd say it's not bad, but you might've been ranked so low because you chose to only focus on one of the voices. Overall your poses could use some work. Again, they're not exactly bad, just not as pushed as they could be. You've barely engaged the pelvis for example, so he's almost locked in that seating position. I noticed that your previous entry had the characters sitting down as well. Maybe consider doing a standing shot for your next entry so you'll be sorta forced to engage the hips as well wink

Another thing that jumped out at me was the shrug he does when he says 'don't have to clean them anymore' - it's pretty stiff, the shoulders move up almost mechanically without much engagement from the rest of the body at all.

Again, it's not bad. It could use some work though.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll definitely take it on-board.

You're spot-on with the sitting observation as well, so no sitting for my next submission!

Will try to plus it and get it looking a bit more polished.

Cheers!

Posing is definitely your primary concern right now. As snuffymcsnuff pointed out everything is very stiff and floaty, which tells me you didn't spend enough time thinking about how he's sitting and how he'll move. The go-to recommendation here is filming reference, and if you haven't tried it you really should. It could be an eye-opening experience to copy those poses and see how it affects your work.
