October Competition Brainstorming Thread

Hello me again....lol
According to the transcript & the provided audio 2 characters
are preparing themselves for the ball as a social gathering or a party.
I gather
it is a Halloween party or some sort masquerade
because they are choosing costumes to wear.
Btw. I have not watched the movie.
So,
when animating this I would use pieces of clothing as props.
Characters can be partly dress in their costumes already
or just holding cloths in their hands.
That gives your characters something to do during the dialogue.
It creates poses.
Also
one or both characters can stand in front of a mirror.
That is another endless possibility of FUNNY POSES.
The tone
of a conversation is rather calm & serious; however, they
contradict each other, giving each other the advise what
to wear in a friendly matter.
A contradiction of ideas is good for acting because can create
interesting animation poses as well FACIAL expressions
.
I understand "What We Do in the Shadows
is a 2014 New Zealand mockumentary horror comedy film about
a group of vampires who live together in Wellington "NZ. (quote from the internet)
So
one can animate vampires
I would twist that to some aliens on a flying saucer trying to infiltrate the earth
by preparing themselves for that costume ball.
1st shot .......a flying saucer hovering over the earth (introduction before a dialogue)
2nd shot .......inside the flying saucer where the conversation takes place
That is my 1st idea. Anything else I come up with
I let you know. Now is your turn.
cheers

Re: October Competition Brainstorming Thread

Okay
I have one thing to add here, which I have noticed in this forum
"Competition Discussion" lately.
Instead of staring a new post with a fancy name "Shooting Script"
(which is the right name for it btw) why just type your ideas
in "Competition Brainstorming Thread" which is provided for that reason
by 11secondclub.com every month since...... 2010 as far as I can see.
The very first was named " The Monthly GREAT ENTRY IDEAS Thread by Taco"
in 2010.
Perhaps you can get more replies than 0 (zero) or 1.
Just a thought.
cheers
Ps.
not trying to tell how to run anybody's posts here, just keep them orderly.

Re: October Competition Brainstorming Thread

So I have listened to the audio again.
The transcript should be
Voice 1:
You can't go to the ball as Blade. The Vampire Hunter
.......................................................He's a Vampire Hunter. (NOT ....He's a....)
Voice 2:
Yeah, but vampires love Wesley Snipes, so it's...
Voice 1:
No it's inappropriate. Okay Vlad, the green jumpers
or the black leather with the dragon belt?
It makes sense.
Also
to clear the controversy about  jumpers vs. jodhpurs
Whatever it is, he is talking about (imao) are
pants (US Eng.)
or trousers (Eng. Eng.)
That's what I would go with, if I'd ever decide to enter the October competition.
cheers

Re: October Competition Brainstorming Thread

I'm usually pretty on-board for coming up with ideas based on whatever the audio is, but I kind of hate this audio, and I think that's blocking me from really giving it my all... Hoping for something far different in November! smile

Good luck on the final push, everyone!
