Re: January Competition Brainstorming Thread!

I think this could be the perfect month to really stretch the creative side of animation and do something non-traditional. What about a morphing, fun piece that has different creatures/objects that meet the description of the guy talking? Think the "minds are jelly" part of this one: http://www.11secondclub.com/competition … r09/winner

Could be a lot of fun! And certainly more interesting than two characters standing next to each other just talking, with the very, very cliche poses we all know are going to pop up in this case. You know the ones! How many "two foot tall" are we going to watch during the voting where the character has his hand out above the ground to indicate "two feet tall?" Too many, so don't go that route! smile

Re: January Competition Brainstorming Thread!

Nice input JK, I think on top of that, it would be nice to see people think outside the realm of humans in my opinion.  I would love to see something interesting using one of the free animal or creature rigs out there.  I do like the idea of seeing deformation in terms of the action though, good thought there.

@acolors, I love your idea with the talking birds/animals, maybe I will try that. I thought about flamingos in search for females - looking for a "slender neck"...

@ericraffle I like it! Would be a great opportunity to do something unique, and having the ostrich with a distinct personality, misconstruing who the people are talking about is a brilliant concept. smile

He could even switch off the radio at the end, or go back to drinking alone while all the swans get attention.

This month's entry is wonderfully sarcastic and full of snark! I can't wait to see what we end up with.

Of course I totally mind you doing that.
I just unsticked and then sticked this thread again, just to make a point tongue

(BTW, thanks for doing it, I'm wasn't busy, just glad of not having to use a computer for a few weeks big_smile)

Re: January Competition Brainstorming Thread!

I just love this months audio! Toot bad I can't participate this month either hmm

too bad the guy describing the thing says "it's a swan" in the end, would have been much funnier if it was the person it was described to big_smile
So, we have to have two people with identical voices in this scene, just to bring the joke home.

I'd probably have them look at something menacing and dangerous, like a tiny 2 ft giraffe with a bill and razorsharp teeth.

Re: January Competition Brainstorming Thread!

Hey friends, here´s the video from Hot Fuzz with the actual audio file: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=koU01Ah_MrY  .

Nonetheless, i think he says "WELL....it´s a swan...." (after seeing the dudes reaction to the question "anything else?") which is a totally different thing right? Would you consider it as wrong when i animate it so, that i he acts like saying "well" instead of "wait!"?

Cheers and have fun smile

It's definitely a sarcastic response of "well"
