Re: WIP-The-Stage-August-2012

I like it so far.

I am starting to see a lot of looking-up-arms-reaching-to-stars in the WIPs.  I'm wondering if you could go a different direction.

I am also thinking that the poses are very repetitive, especially the hand gestures, after he walks to the wall, I see...

1.  right palm up to dog.
2.  right palm up (similar gesture) to star.
3.  right palm up to dog
4.  left palm up to dog
5.  both palms up to dog
5.  both palms down
6.  both palms up to dog
7.  character makes fists, then...
8.  both palms up to dog

Hi!
Thats probably because you are posting so many updates smile There is a whole lot to say about you animation, I'll start at the basics:
You seem to have no grasp of weight shifts in the human body, on numerous times the guy would have fallen over, like for example on his last step. You always have to shift the body weight over to the leg on the ground before lifting the other leg.
The torso feels kinda stiff, you are rotating it to the front and back, but sideways it looks like he swallowed a stick. Especially when he leans against the wall (you need to get him much closer to the wall for that) you need to bend his upper body to the side quite a bit.
The poses look quite interesting, but they could be pushed a lot more smile Have you looked at reference for that? I recommend you do that, especially again for the leaning against the wall part and the walk to stop and turn part.
In order to get more detailed feedback, I recommend you use something like dropbox for hosting your vids and utilize a frame counter.
Keep it up!

Edit: I think you went into spline too soon, which is why your animation now looks a lot less appealing than during your stepped stage? Try to stay on stepped until you have a key on approx. every 2nd or 3rd frame, with all overlaps and followthroughs planned out...
