Re: Can't play the monthly videos posted by your site.

Me too, FF 8, Win 7 64 too. The play controls for the videos don't seem to load at all.
I also tried Chrome here too and same thing.

Cheers,
Brian

Re: Can't play the monthly videos posted by your site.

I am bring this thread back because I just found something out about eCritique. Clicking on the eCritique on the home page sends me to that page but I can not play the video. If I click on the eCritique web link on Google, I am sent to the web page but the videos can all be play.

I am thinking that there might be a issue with the home page linking to the eCritique page.

I am add more to this because I found something new. All the months earlier than June of this year produce the big Q and the months that follow are running on Adobe viewer. Not sure  if this is of any help.

Re: Can't play the monthly videos posted by your site.

Hi,

I'm on Windows XP64, FF12.
None of the site videos are playing for me. Only the sound plays but the video refuses to play, when i click inside the window it starts buffering and then says "The downloaded video is not a DivX file."
...help!?

You actually answered your own question. Get rid of that carp DivX web plugin and the video will play without problem. smile

Re: Can't play the monthly videos posted by your site.

Thank you. smile
I went into FF Add-ons, disabled the Divx plugin and restarted my browser. Now i can see the videos.

But it's a bit weird though...why do the site videos play through the divX plugin if they are not divx videos in the first place, I'm only curious 'cos it's the first time i've come across something like this. Is it because the videos are html5 and DivX just steps in and say "Oh let me play this for you 'cos i'm good at it"...not! :-\

PrecipieOfLight, that's it exactly.  The question is better posed to the DivX plugin developers.

Re: Can't play the monthly videos posted by your site.

OK PROBLEM SOLVED: in google chrome go to TOOLS--EXTENSIONS--and locate the DIVX extension and unable it, DOne it should run the videos! BUT I insist in this page they should CHANGE THE PLAYER !

Re: Can't play the monthly videos posted by your site.

And I insist you stop shouting here.
It is a well documented fact that the DivX webplayer is one of the lowliest pieces of carp software that the internet community has ever encountered. If you actually installed that, it's your problem.
