RULES FOR JOB OFFERS!! PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING!!

We very much welcome job offers on this forum.
But in regards to some complaints we had just recently, and in protection of these people's gears, we have put a few rules in place. This way, the job offer will get to the right person much faster and simpler.

These rules will need to be followed in order to not have your job offer deleted:

- Clearly state in the topic of the thread what kind of job you are offering. If you're offering multiple jobs, please state them all in the topic. If you wish to add a job to the posting, you can do so by editing the headline of the thread (by editing the first post) and adding a new post describing the new position.

- Also clearly state in the topic of the thread if the job is paid or not. A good topic could look like this: "(paid) Looking for 3d animator for an animated short movie!"

- In the actual post, you need to clarify what competences you are looking for. Example: "I'm looking for an experienced 3d animator who is skilled in Maya." Don't forget to mention the software used, and what skill level you are looking for (junior, senior).

- Give an estimate of the time frame for the project, and how it will be paid. If you're inexperienced and don't know what the animation you're looking for costs, or how long it might take, please check that first before posting. Example: "The animator is going to work with a team on a 3-minute short movie, which is scheduled to finish in 2013. It will be paid by the hour."

- As there is no PM option on this forum, you really need to supply your contact information (mandatory) and a website (if applicable), as well as as much information as possible you can give on the project, in your post.

- POST ONLY ONCE. You're free to bump your original thread, but please refrain from spamming the forum (no bumping more than once every 24 hours).

- If the job is already taken, you will do yourself and the persons trying to apply both a very big favor in deleting the thread again.

We have set these rules to make the Job Board something both recruiters and animators can gain from. Remember that a job offer that looks serious is likely to garner more interest.

PLEASE ALSO NOTE IF YOU'RE PLANNING ON OFFERING AN UNPAID OR VERY LOW PAID JOB, maybe consider if your job offer is better suited in the 'making a short film section', if so, please also refrain from posting it more than once.

Re: RULES FOR JOB OFFERS!! PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING!!

Could I also suggest that the poster of the thread include whether the job is paid or unpaid in the thread title? Something like - '(Paid) 3D Animator wanted', or '(Unpaid) Need Freelancer 3D Character Animator for 2-3 mins short film' etc etc. I think this will save a lot of time for us looking for work.

Re: RULES FOR JOB OFFERS!! PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING!!

Edited it a bit to make it clearer. I'm wondering if we should make some of this rules instead of guidelines, it would be nice if we could provide a somewhat serious job board that people can gain from. Enforcing a few rules, such as providing information about payment, time frame and due date on applications, would improve this subforum a LOT.

It would be nice to have some administrator's thoughts on this, aja?

Yes, absolutely. This would be a huge help.  Please feel free to edit the titles/descriptions of job post threads to comply with these rules, if you have the info needed.

Thank you!
