Thought of You by Ryan Woodward
Hey everyone, I just came across this amazing 2D animation and wanted to share it. I remember having seen it somewhere here long ago so I looked it up and the post was 1 and a half years old, so I thought it would be good to post it again so everyone who has joined recently could see it.
Animation-wise, the weight is incredible, I think I read somewhere that it's rotoscoped or something similar. Anyways it still has that really smooth sense of weight which no rotoscope can achieve, it's just pure talent. The style is great, I think the rough sketches fit perfectly, it wouldn't look good if it both characters were cleaned and with color.
Here's the video!
The top comments on YouTube talk about some interesting ideas about what the animation means in case you want to see other points of view.
Hope you enjoy it!

Yeah there's a behind the scenes video on his Vimeo. They actually had a cheorographer and dancers perform it, and he used that to rotoscope it to some effect.
