Mastafran42 June 2012 Work
I have decide to do an 11 second club project for this month. I'm thinking I could twist this as "two guys who want to use the port-a-potty" conflict. I'm not sure if the characters need to speak the lines themselves or if I could use this as a narration. Well, if push comes to shove...

I really like, what could help is having two port-a-potties, say one on the left hooked to a truck/forklift that removes it from the shot. To emphasize the 'NOW when..' of the narration.

hmm well I think its a funny idea....I just don't see there being a lot of potential for animation with this idea. Pretty much all its going to be is a voice over, then two guys stepping into the shot with their backs to the camera.
Maybe try having a crazy old man delivering the line on top of the port_a_potty. Start close in on him so you cant see what hes standing on and slowly have the camera track back to reveal the man delvering the line ontop of the port_a_potty and the two men standing in front of it.....I don't know, you don't have to use that idea but just throwing something out there.
Keep the idea just work something else out because right now it seems the animation is going to be very boring. Its such a good audio line, it would be a shame just to use it as a voice over.

I'm digging that idea so far. I'm grasping at straws at the moment as my idea was either this, or two kids about to play a video game.

Yeah i'm with Rico boy on this. I think it's a great premise... it just isn't quite reaching its potential. Maybe you can do some interesting staging where you see two guys about to face off... they're staring each other down... rolling up sleeves.. whatever. You could even do close ups of their eyes... cracking their knuckles. You could play it off like they're about to fight, and then when it goes down, they both race to the portapotty!.. They're pushing and shoving each other fighting for that door. It might be a lot of tricky work, but I think it would be cool. If you go the route of close ups, it actually wouldn't take a lot of animation work.. so you can focus more on the end when they're fighting each other for the door. Then maybe as an additional gag, maybe one of them wins and gets in, but then gets thrown out the door, as it's already occupied. I dunno. Just my initial thoughts. Great premise though! I'm looking forward to seeing more!

I do have a new idea where it could be a sniper about to assassinate someone. I sketched up a quick storyboard and I think there might be something to it.
