Re: Horse Walk

wow pretty good!
but I think ther's something funny about the "head" movement?
Can't quite put my finger on it...
...maybe the up and down motion is a bit too much... or the side to side... or maybe both need to get tweaked, not sure? hmm

But nonetheless, still a great start! big_smile

Re: Horse Walk

Hey,
thanks Rickkrispyninja for your feedback. I had a rouge key on the head which I deleted and I've reduced the sway,
beside that I did some research on the horse's front and back feet lift and planting. I've updated the anim respectvily.

Re: Horse Walk

Hey Brendan, you've got a really nice walk here. Great job!

The one thing that bothers me, is the amount the hoofs are rotated on the up position of each foot. Right now they're bending back far too much in my opinion. Right now, they're bending back as much as they would when the horse is trotting, as oppose to walking casually like it's doing with your anim. This also give the leg just a little bit of a pop (as it's currently rotating too far backwards).

Hope you're keeping well buddy!

Re: Horse Walk

Great animation:)

I think it could be even better if you made his hind legs go further back before getting of the ground, and maby let him step more under himself, so he gets a longer stride.
Maby you can cheat with the rig, and make the back longer.

Re: Horse Walk

I like the update a lot!
I think it looks great!

Cheers big_smile

UPDATE
Ok, ok...
I see something now!

- the hind (back) legs, look at how much "life" are in the front legs! Then watch it again, and notice how dull the hind legs are? But if that's the way a horse walks, then so be it...

Are you going to attempt a "Trot"? big_smile
Great animal piece you have here!

Re: Horse Walk

I think you have a great walk, I feel like the front two legs are moving further or faster than the back two.

Re: Horse Walk

The only thing that I can see is that the real horses hind legs hit the ground slower and more delicately than yours, other than that it's awesome!

Re: Horse Walk

Really good piece, it has all the right movements in the legs, the only problems I can personally see is that the back isn't bobbing up and down with the steps as much as the video horse is, and the head seems rather limp.

But I should point out I had to really nitpick to find those two points, so you''re good to go besides.

Re: Horse Walk

Nice smile One thing to note: I believe the horse in the reference footage does not raise his front legs as much as yours before contact (17f). Other than that really good job!

Re: Horse Walk

WOW!
++ great head shake
+ walk looks good
-/+ and yeah that front leg might be just a tad too high... but that's really "nit picking"

Great Quad Piece! big_smile
