Re: Polish63's Giant Work in Progress Thread
Wow thanks oneZ!
These are the comments I got from Bobby Beck
The shot actually looks pretty good.
The body and head feel fairly well polished. I see room for a bigger arc/anticipation on the head in the middle of the shot when you have the BIG movement.
The arms/hands feel like blocking plus. The hands feel like paddles. Yes, they have residual bounces, good start, yet the drag is not there on the limbs hand and ESPECIALLY the fingers. Don't forget you can utilize bend bows on the arms so they don't feel like tubes, too.
I hope these things help. Again, you're REALLY close, but the arms, being as they are, make the shot look more like Blocking Plus.

I'm going to address these later tonight... I gotta get this stuff in by Friday evening

Looks good! What exactly do you want to do at pixar? Work or internship? Something else? Good luck with it anyway!
You got some spare time? I would highly appreciate it if you'd visit my blog and maybe leave a comment or critique! http://svenstroomberg.blogspot.com/

I can imagine! How did you apply? Cause I also applied for an internship but had to do that through their website where they didn't ask me for a cover letter.

Re: Polish63's Giant Work in Progress Thread
Thanks Sven.... I took the week off and got away from the comp completely. Come Monday morning I'm going to submit my reel for review at AM. Once I get that back I be back on here making changes and looking for more insight.

Whelp... I didn't get the internship, kind of a bummer, but at least I tried. I did however get a job! I'm freelancing from home. They like me to get about 30-40 secs a week and its helped me discover new workflows, which is a huge plus for me!
While I'm doing that during the day I've been going through and doing some tests and some of the exercises from the list Camaro posted. Here's one I recently finished.

That's like 750 frames a week!! darn, not sure I could do that no matter what level of animation they require. Too bad about the internship but congrats on the job!

your reel looks awesome man! But I think that walk at the end probably killed your chances, you should have left that out. Idk if they saw that too or something different. I thought the rest of your work was pretty good though

Thanks ajfrank! I actually submitted my reel to AM for a full critique and have been making changes slowly, but surely. I wanna make sure I know my mechanics above all first. That's why I'm doing the challenges.

Is this thread gettin to long? Should I create a new post for every exercise/test I do or just continue to post in here?
