Re: MC 21: the pendulum

Any recommendations on the pendulum rig?  Is there a specific one that is just "ZOMGEPIC!!!" to use?  Little late, but I'll still join in on this one I think.  I could use a basic assignment for the weekend.

I've never done one of these either, so here's a quick go at the basic idea. (Thanks for the rig Camaro)

Re: MC 21: the pendulum

Nice  animation Horganovski!

Now possibly build upon it and use a pendulum to tell a little story. You can of course increase the number of frames if you wish, but remember to build good mechanics in the swing

Re: MC 21: the pendulum

Not Much..Just a simple Try..Pendulum is really Confusing Sometime...Was not able to create a story...as I had go out for 5 days...So was only able to create a Pendulum test..but any Critique would be Helpful...

Re: MC 21: the pendulum

Looks pretty good to me, nice and loose. Possibly some minor spacing issues on the settle maybe?

whoopsies. Knew I was missing something. Link to the pendulum.
D'oh!
Nice start Horganovski, probly want to sell that anticipation better as it happens super fast!
Also watch out for frames 8, 26 and 32, as they are all very straight.
Thanks to Camaro for providing the pendulum rig!

Re: MC 21: the pendulum

Thanks for the notes cosmicfool, I started a new one though as I came up with an idea for a situation I liked. I'll keep those points in mind though.

Just blocking out the movement of the base for the moment, once I get that figured out I'll work on the other parts in the chain.

Cheers,
Brian

Heh heh, many thanks guys. I figured there would be a few fellow vintage video game fans here smile

Did a little polish on some of the motion and rendered it out.

Re: MC 21: the pendulum

ah okay, I don't know a video tutorial, sorry, but if you got a regular pendulum without any stops etc, you can get quite agreeable results by animating all joints together on the extremes, and then successively offsetting the child joints, (hopefully thats understandable big_smile)
