Extreme!! And wonderful! Its so easy to overlook the difficulty of handling an object. The way you twist and turn... I always knew where the ball was, yet those little details really make it entertaining and beautiful to watch.  Would love to know kyle's thoughts when it is finished.

Re: MC 16: It's a Slam Dunk!

Hey Jooan,
Nice effort. It has a comedic appeal that is suitable to the moom rig. It does lack experienced handling of posing etc, but relax, that will come with time.

If you can't finish this, don't worry the new challenge starts tomorrow. Next one is written by cosmicfool. It will focus simply on a basic foundation of animation, but is crucial to experiment with and get right

Render looks a bit awful but I can't do anything better now sad

Don't know why the first frames looks blurried if you look at video here, but if you follow the link it looks good.

Re: MC 16: It's a Slam Dunk!

Oh and Neolitus, I think your render is okay for that shot. It's not awful. It's just the spine of norman that i think bends too little.
Jooan's shot is so funny. I watched it many times. I think you should finish it up when you have time. Would love to see another version cause the idea is so great.
Esquilogp, I'll do the honorable thing and say I'm humbled by your shot. I think it's such a good approach to the mini challenge. (Am not too proud to admit I like it more than mine) The bending of the board really brings out the power in that dunk. CLASSIC!!

Re: MC 16: It's a Slam Dunk!

Hi guys it's pretty cool to see more scenes here, congratulations to everyone !

@thelittlepenguin84 thank you, i really had a great time doing this scene, lots of fun..
in fact the handling of the objects was made by parent constraints, it was not so hard hahaha

There are some tiny pops, but maybe i'll fix that later with more time..

And the silhouette version, just for curiosity

Re: MC 16: It's a Slam Dunk!

@esquilogp

looking really good. Main note is I think you need to work on your spacing..currently he is jumping up & falling back down very slowly...think of a bouncing ball...needs to start fast..then slowed down by gravity...then speed up again.

Also the ball the ball bouncing out of frame feels a bit weird. He dunks it straight down...but its bouncing to the side

great poses

Re: MC 16: It's a Slam Dunk!

@KyleG Thank you so much for your comment Kyle, your dunks really inspired me to do this one.. it's a honour !

You are right, it always the basic.. incredible how a simple bouncing ball can teach you. I tried to fix the problems that you pointed.. if you have time, please take a look

Pedro there's not really a set time frame that you HAVE to do these. If you want to join, feel free to jump in.
