Thought it was a great feel to it all but the foot in the landing doesn't actually land. Can't do a frame count though, blue left leg on the landing.

hey nice blocks here like the flow of this, maybe you could just slow it a bit just before he jump, it will give  more wiegth to the jump. smile

Re: MC Week 14 - Flip

i was doing this on and off as i had other activities, but i came up with the blocking w/o the hands at least as they were quite a hassle in this case(for me) and i thought i should concentrate on the other parts first. so i'm here to get feedback so i can continue working on it.

Re: MC Week 14 - Flip

this is pretty cool bennykan but it could go a bit faster in the first part of the jump and your legs moves in the exact same time, when he jump, when he group his legs and when he land smile

Yep! a bit fast as to me, and maybe, at frame 28 29 when it takes is run up you could move the pelvis to the front not behind...smile

Re: MC Week 14 - Flip

Hey Robcat if you could make a new one that'd be great. It's not a super strict rule but the point of the challenge is to encourage creating something new, not something you've done before.

Re: MC Week 14 - Flip

Hey Tom,
I think you should put your camera more on the side view for the audience to see what's goin on there. Using the front view makes harder to see the what's going on there in the spine.

I tried to draw something over it.
Try to delay the hands and give him an emotion.(like after he did a backflip he is proud of himself)

I hope it will help.

Re: MC Week 14 - Flip

It was new for me when I did it and I did it in the time limit that we have here. Like everyone else's it's an example of somethign put together quickly without having previously worked on it.  And i even included the disclaimer that it's from a prior challenge so if anyone doesn't like that all they have to do is not watch it.

If I did another one I'd really be revisiting something i've practiced before and not trying something new to me which would be outside the premise it seems.  I've got other things to keep me animation-busy but I thought i'd at least show this pertinent effort.

This even an issue when there are no winners or prizes or rankings or anything?

Re: MC Week 14 - Flip

Hi MagicE,
Your anticipation should be in the opposite way, ( think of the bouncing ball)
I tried to explain here.
Both of your feet are moving at the same time, try to delay one of them. nice job

Re: MC Week 14 - Flip

Thanks Totoro!
That was really helpful, I tried to update my animation but for some reason the geometry starts lagging really bad, when I move controlls the geometry stays behind and it seems to get worse I'll have tried to redownload the rig but it didn't work. I'm going to try and re-install maya or even my whole computer see if it works. So I'm going to update it, but it might take a while!
