Re: Why you should keep trying.

Woah, Aja! That was amazing! Thanks for sharing. I am a 3D animator, trying to improve my traditional skills. And this guy's progress has motivated me to quadruple my efforts instead of just doing a couple of sketches here and there.

Thanks again!

The reason to keep trying is because it’s only hard until it becomes easy.

Re: Why you should keep trying.

The nice thing about it is: You find storys like that quite often on Conceptart.org I really like to go through the sektchbooks first watchin the amazing Art from Todays and then gettin Back to the roots it always inspire.
I'll start my own animation sketchbook right after I finished my 2 recent Projects. That would be startin near by scratch but constantly trying and sharing for critique is the only way to get it I think. So a lil Test a walkcycle one or two Poses a week should be ok.

But a huuuuge Point to this Sketchbook is that awesome gap in quality.. he was just jumpin up the Skill-ladder by huuuuuge step!

To the point of difference in Skill and Talent. For me skill is the abillity to create, develope or craft anything..  a thing, an idea, art.  Skill can be built up by hard work, training, learning and practicing (just if u self-reflect it - If u create something and never look at it again or never consciously be aware of what you are doin' you won't ever advance out of your current state)
In my eyes a more talented guy would process faster on the same topic in the same amount of time or in other words will maybe have the easier way to accomplish the same level of work. This what so ever don't meen that the talented guy is the better one.
If someone don't have to put any effort into it and continuing to get awesome results it have to be a genius. Someone like Mozart but its really rare.

but jsut my 2 cents on it wink
good day to ya cheerz

Tks so very much,

IT'S ALL IN THE TIMING AND IN THE SPACING.

Re: Why you should keep trying.

Thanks for posting this, I found it very inspiring.

@petersen3d I'm in similar boat I did a games degree majoring in animation and graduated in 2005, however unfortunately the course was a bit general and didn't end up getting my animation up to level I wanted and have ended up working in the games industry in Quality assurance and level design the last 5 years.
However recently in the last week I have been getting back into animation and remembering how much I enjoyed it. I've been doing a similar thing getting back to basics (Bouncing balls etc)

I'm keeping an eye on your blog Peterson and will try to give any feedback I can dunno how constructive it will be at first seeing as I'm really rusty and in process of re-learning stuff myself

Anyway time to get some sketching done I've got a lot of practice to do tongue

Check out my animation blog: at www.brendonvince.blogspot.com

Also would love to chat to other animators on MSN or Gchat smile

Re: Why you should keep trying.

Lol that's so funny. I often show this thread to people starting out or to believe who that they cannot get good at an art because they arn't "talented." I thought it was cool that you guys made it a sticky here and selected the images!
