Alien office (May Wip)

Hiya! I'm working on a sorta office-esque shot for this months competition. I'm trying to come up with what he should be doing in the background that would be funny so any suggestions/ critiques would be greatly appreciated!

haha, we both have the same idea! but I think he should be doing some "scanning" or pointing his finger or hovering his head over the planet.

Re: Alien office (May Wip)

The camera is moving too much at the start. Consider starting the camera not quite so zoomed in on his face at the start. The 1st guy's leg pose in the second shot looks very bland- maybe put his legs into something more natural? The cut to the other rooms feels a little jarring, took me a second to realise where I was. I initially thought he was trying to catch the other guys attention not the cameras- Maybe you can put him forward more in the scene (move the wall forward) to make him larger, and make his movements a bit clearer that it's a "hey you, come over here" sort of action. Good luck!

I updated the robot trying to catch the cameras attention to be more clear. I still need to work on the robots fingers, after that I'll start in on the alien messing with the globe in the 2nd shot.

I'm wondering if you could push this further still by doing the same thing as the office (hopefully shown above), by making the wall a window instead of a wall. It looks like he could potentially still hear him, and behind the wall gives less of an "interview feel"? If that makes sense. I think it would benefit from some of the tropes you see in these tv shows to help ground this idea.

You've definitely given yourself a challenge with the robot! Not having him be able to speak is very hard... Maybe you could even have the light on his head light up for each of the different words so you can indicate he's speaking.
