LEGO copyright?

"Copyrighted rigs and/or character designs will not be allowed in entries unless the entrant has the right to use the rig and/or design."

This is one of the rules for the competition. I was wondering if using LEGO minifigs (whether it be in 3D or stop-motion) would violate this copyright rule?

Cheers!

Re: LEGO copyright?

If there's any doubt, I would err on the side of caution.
