Sept Blocking- Just Maybe

Good day!

I would love to know what you think about the act of this shot.
Is it too much? It is confusing?
Please let me know your thought.

Re: Sept Blocking- Just Maybe

during the WIP, my friend saw one of my keyposes and thought it has turned this clip to a funny one.

so I decided to take a break from the seriousness I have been in and PLAY WITH IT.

Of course, it will not be in my final. but I had a lot of fun! LOL

the quick camera cut to her face is very distracting, I would lose it

Yes!
I saw the distraction after I took a coffee break!
My sense in camera movement is very weak.
(that is something I need to study more after this clip!)

below is a much serious WIP that I am working on right now.
I wonder if the camera movement is better now.

I feel like my work has a lot of jig/hit the wall or similar problems.
Currently, I am working on the second part of the clip.
As for the first half, although I am checking it with the 12 principles, what is it that I am missing?
Coffee break doesn't really help this time, LOL!

C&C always welcome sincerely. :-)

Thank you very much!

Re: Sept Blocking- Just Maybe

There's not really a need for that camera cut, all it is doing is zooming in ever so slightly, it makes it feel like a pop

I would lose all the cuts & camera movement, just have it stay how it is at the beginning the whole time

Re: Sept Blocking- Just Maybe

my thoughts are the same with KyleG, the camera movement and cut is really distracting.

also, who is he directing his "haven't I?" to? it felt rather weird since you do not have a second character in the picture. i think the most natural thing for him to do is to ask the goat, right?

Re: Sept Blocking- Just Maybe

Thank you Kyle and Weiswayne!

I took the suggestion and have the cam stayed still since the ultimate goal is to have the scene finish (at least).

only half way... of the clip (sniff).

>> Hi Weiswayne,
Ideally, the animal is her props and is the reason she's crying for.
So she's directing to the person on her left (or right from my side).

but this msg didn't come out clearly or you won't be confused!
I might not be adding another character since the clock is ticking. However, I'll try it again so the clearer msg of she's talking to another person instead of the animal is see-able.
**lots to learn from you!**

Re: Sept Blocking- Just Maybe

I would love to see the character's head getting lower and the camel putting it up again with his nose. I think you get more emotion between the two characters. There is a little space in the sequence to do that.

Re: Sept Blocking- Just Maybe

can't wait for the voting to start so i can see your final shot smile

anyway, if you're gonna continue fixing it, may i suggest a change of camera angle? maybe change it to a tighter composition.
i think that would help a lot on selling the idea that there's another person off the camera better if your shot is tighter.

Goodluck!

Suggestion is surely welcome!
(Please, please, Please!) :-D

I need to be honest. The final hasn't changed quite lot because I was struggling with the 12 basic principles.
But, since competition has ended and Oct has just started, I will fix it with extra character in. smile
... I mean if i can have the camera problem fixed to squeeze in extra one. LOL
