WIP of my screwed august entry :(

Good day, everyone.

Looks like I've screwed up my august entry by using copyrighted character design.
I am an unexperienced competitor and that rule completely slipped my mind = )

It would be nice if someone from administration could confirm this (in case I might be wrong)

The rig was made by me based on the free model (downloaded from "thefree3dmodels") of "Wheatley" character from "Portal 2" game.
(The little green thing in the bottom right corner is the free "Tubbs" rig)

I decided to finish animation anyway and will be grateful for any helpful critique.

Thank you.

Re: WIP of my screwed august entry :(

I love your composition.

As far as the animation, I really don't understand what I am seeing.  The character seems twitchy, but doesn't reveal (to me), the story.  I would say less poses.  Find the emotional beats, and make up a pose that applies to that emotion.  I great thing about this rig, is that it is so "unhuman," you have a lot of room to invent emotive poses within the context of your story.

I agree with the above post. Do more with the eye itself and less movements. It seems to fluid. If you move him, add more of a snap (less keyframing)

Re: WIP of my screwed august entry :(

good idea. most unique one so far. as the above said there is too much movement in the eye. put pauses in between movements that actually contribute to the story. that way you can emphasize the movements that really matter. :-P

Re: WIP of my screwed august entry :(

Hellow again.
Thank you for all your help!

I was busy a little this month animating Malcolm for this (august) competition
Here is the slightly modified version of my august entry.
I didn't think much about the story, just tried to convey the emotional state of the character.

I am also continue working on "Space core" shot (I haven't much time, I animate on weekends)
