yeah, I don't really get what youre saying but it seems like something positive ![]()
aaanyways, a friend of mine, currently finished masters degree in UK told me that I could apply for the masters degree even though I don't have BA, hes on the Bournemouth uni ( http://ncca.bournemouth.ac.uk/ ) and he said there are several people like me there, no education what so every just mad skillz (
) and this really seems like the right choice, since when you are a MA you can do pretty whatever you want wherever you want, right ?
Im going to be the most EPIC animator you have ever heard of

Well.. there's another form of education... and it's the kind that pays you... it's called a job! haha I sometimes feel that i'm the only one on this site that promotes this idea. But if possible, you could look to that as a consideration. You can work hard to build a reel that could hopefully land you a job. I guarantee you'll learn as much on a job as you would in school, plus it pays you, and you'll have that much more time actually in the industry gaining experience, which will help you land the next job. I'm sure you'll meet other great animators from whom you can grab inspiration and advice from.
It seems like most aspiring animators are so focused on finding the right schools, the right kind of education, when most a lot of the animators working now a days whom we look up to, didn't have such a luxury. So it's not an impossible path. Heck some studios will even provide financial compensation for continual education if you decide to.
I dunno, you don't have to listen to me! I like playing devil's advocate sometimes just to pose a different point of view. I find it funny... for a career that doesn't require a degree at all, people sure are very "school minded".

I just spent a lot of time applying for graduate schools, so I think I might be able to help. If you want an artsy school, a good place to go is Academy of Art University in San Francisco (http://www.academyart.edu/). One of the nice things about them is that they accept pretty much everyone (though considering that you seem to have a fair amount of experience I doubt getting accepted will be your issue). But they're still a really good school and will give you a great art background. Plus they're in San Francisco, which is an amazing city.
If money isn't a huge issue and you're looking for a liberal arts college, I would suggest DePaul University (http://www.depaul.edu/) in Chicago. That's the school I attend now. It's a new program, but it's got some great faculty, and there's something to be said for going to a liberal arts school. You get a broader education than an art school, which is great.
Rochester Institute of Technology (http://www.rit.edu/) is where I'll be going for grad school and it's also a great school, but again it's expensive. It's in Rochester New York.
Savannah College of Art and Design (http://www.scad.edu/) is very hard to get in to, but definitely worth checking out. It's a great school, very competitive, and very focused on art. It's located in Savannah Georgia. I have a friend that attends and she claims they have one of the best programs in the country.
I've noticed that a lot of people have been mentioning the cost of going to college, and this is an issue. But don't let that keep you from applying! Scholarships and financial aid are available, especially if you have high need, and if you have a great reel you may be surprised at what you receive. And it certainly can't hurt to apply, even if you don't end up getting the financial aid you need. I hope I helped!
