Re: Get Away (Body Mechanics)

haha... great blocking for a little pantomime piece!

- you could settle him quicker towards the end of his run cycle; seems a bit slow to settle from how fast his momentum is (he should settle around frame 60 or so)
- if he's trying to hide from someone; then I think he would be looking MUCH QUICKER for a place to hide; he seems to drag out what he wants to do
- the dive could probably be quicker too

...a rule of thumb my instructor told me about 10 years ago was, "If you think it's going to be 4 secs, then it's probably 2 secs!"  Just cut your keys in 1/2 and that should get you closer to the timing you desire...

Keep going, cheers! big_smile

Re: Get Away (Body Mechanics)

Thanks for your comments.

I'm afraid i'm not seeing it. It seem to be a nice flow going there. but I'll see what I can so. Anyone else who agrees with 'ricekrispyninja' let me know. I'm still trying to 'train' my eye.

(- if he's trying to hide from someone; then I think he would be looking MUCH QUICKER for a place to hide; he seems to drag out what he wants to do)

Yes, totally agree, and I will fix this. My animation used to always be too fast, so I think this was an over compensation for that.

(- the dive could probably be quicker too)

Yep. Ill change it.

That's a useful bit of info, thanks.

Re: Get Away (Body Mechanics)

So have made adjustments, and have reached a point where I think it would be good to get some feedback.

Re: Get Away (Body Mechanics)

Definitely getting BETTER! big_smile
Timing feels better... especially when he jumps behind the dumpster... that feels really good...
...I still think the beginning run could settle quicker though... i just feel with the run he's doing, it takes him a bit long to settle... but maybe its just me.  I'll just wait til you Spline it...

Cheers!  big_smile

Re: Get Away (Body Mechanics)

Hey all, I have splined the scene. Its not finished I still need to work on bits of overlap and general tidy up, but before I get to deep into that, I'd appreciate some feedback as to whether what I have is working. Thanks all.

Re: Get Away (Body Mechanics)

Here's the timing I was thinking:

(this is just if you want to scrub using QT... but it doesn't matter since I pretty much just cut up your video and sped things up that I saw fit - and don't worry it says .avi, it'll open in QT)

what do you think? neutral
