Re: Mc week 9: standing up from being seated

Hey merj, an important part of preparing for animation, including these challenges, is pre-planning. It will provide you with your own unique twist. Get hold of a video camera. If you're not use to being infront of a camera, you will feel an absolute monkey first time you try. I did.

Yet, it will quickly provide you ways to record different interpretations. There could be a weight shift, or a little of character you miss by just using thumbnails.

This is an excellent read and refers to not only dialogue, but when your trying to create your own work, it can refer to anything from bouncing balls onwards up http://www.11secondclub.com/helpful_hints/acting_it_out

I have to disagree with the camera thing. YES, it can be good, but its not required. when doing mine, i musta stood up 50 times. you don't really need a CAMERA, but you have to be able to feel the movement in your body. you need to recreate it. when working ion the shoulders, stand up, focusing your brain on the movement of your shoulders.

get a camera if you have money, if not, just constantly DO the actions.

Lol, I should have mentioned, my way is certainly not the only way. But it is certainly a good way. Behind both though is the idea of pre-planning
