Description: This rig is definitely not made for lip sync. Wrestled with it for a LONG time. Still needs some work (what animation doesn't?) :) I dedicate this to my wife who's constant hair pulling critiques helped me all the way to the end.

Experience: Not Enough

Time taken: Too long.

Dwarakanath Jnaneswar Ekkirala:

Accent on "Town" seems a bit late.. IMHO, the knife gesture is a bit taking away from the character's "thinking". I mean, the focus suddenly is going on to the knife from the characters face. Also seems a bit too deliberate for a sad woman to do such a big and smooth move.. But over all, animation is good!

Yeray Díaz Díaz:

Great job, everything well balanced and nice character.

Kai Huai:

nice.. but what shes doing is dangerous man.. Dunoe whether thats the normal way to slice sumthing.. looks like piercing to me

Clayton Miller:

Great job!

Deanna Bishop:

Super great lovely acting!

Ryan Hagen:

I would've like to see her cut into the tomato a little sooner, and then stop about half way through. Would've added a lot to the clip I think. Good job.

Adam Levin:

I love the breath in after the word "living" and before "a life". Something seems a bit off on the chop of the meat though, don't you usually hit the table with the knife? fast in rather than ease in?

Ryan Hobbiebrunken:

Awe poor housewife lol. Great job!

Shahbaaz Shah:

Who's this guy? He's terrible! :)

Dan Dulberger:

Nobody slices like that!

Brad Bradbury:

good work.
she seems a bit too angry, to me,
in the beginning.
Careful about the cutting action, in my opinion, its too much of a push here.
The arc should go forward and then down,
you have the reverse.

Anthony Travieso:

I think see hits the pose on town a little to late and maybe you could of move her over on that same pose because it looks like shes stuck in that one spot.GOOD WORK

Eric Luhta:

Good work overall. I would push the timing more, its all very similar. A couple of the gestures feel late, and get reference for the cutting, it doesn't look correct. I think your ideas are clear and good staging.

nick vona:

nice animation, end bit with the knife seems not as clearly executed... but still very nice...

Frank Collazo:

very good

John T. Coomey:

Good Job.. only thing is the furrowed brow looks strange but this could be a rig thing. the last brow movement also seems a bit quick and also the shape of the brow aren't very appealing

Aaron Clement:

Nice end expression.

Tania Vincent:

i think this is nicely redered and i like the anger at the start but maybe the change to sadness is slightly to fast and maybe needs some neutral facial expressions inbetween but i love the stageing and detail of the knife

Kyle Mohr:

I love the pose on "town"! Nice overlap of the knife hand, and I like how she directs her speech to a specific place, as if she is talking to someone.

One direction change, take it or leave it: While you have a nice motion of her cutting, and it's a nice bit of stage action, I sort of feel like she wouldn't cut at all. For example, she could get ready to cut on the *gasp* like you have, but when she realizes she 's living a life she doesn't want to live, she just can't bring herself to cut that vegetable one more time--so she just gives up and lays the knife down as she talks.

I'm not sayin you have to go back now to do it, but it's just a thought about acting choices that may help. Overall I really like it, good job!

Lauren Wells:

Love the last pose! Only, you could probably put more of her weight onto her elbows and hunch down a tad bit more. Nice job!

Gregory Marlow:

I think the tomato slice takes away from it. If she were upset she would not focus on slicing the tomato. She would lose focus. I like that she is doing something when the scene talks and that she gestures with the knife. Gives the piece a little more context. But don't have here do something without a reason.

ArunVijayan:

acting is good...try to improve

Jace Bandalin:

Very very nice job! You've captured the eyes to match the dialog and the whole thing reads very well.

Christian Leon Christensen:

nice toych with the knife, although I wish she hadn't completed the cutting, but stopped halfway thru, since she is tired of the situation

Alex Zemke:

Nice acting choices, love the work with eye direction. Mechanics with the arms, particularly on the cutting, slightly unnatural. I think it's the wrist angles. But good job overall!

Alonso Soriano:

I'm not seeing the thought process that leads to that change in expression, try some eye darts. She nails that slice samurai style, feels a little odd that she's not more careful to look where she's aiming and cutting carefully

miles southan:

Good work! It seems strange to me that you have her angry instead of sad in the beginning, but it kind of works. Also, the lip synch is a little off in places.

Virgil Mihailescu:

I like what she's doing!! It makes sense to be talking about "a life" she has "no wish to live" in this context ;)
the animation is ok, except for the last gesture, the cutting, that seems awkward to me. if it wasn't for that, I would have most probably voted all 11 little stars. the beginning of the shot is especially nice. technique wise... I like that you detail the movement and not animate pose-2-pose, zzzzap, boing, stuff like that. try more accuracy in the gestures. the lipsync is also spot on.

Taber Dunipace:

Some of the detailed aren't smoothed out such as the knife hand and the facial expressions. The cut at the end seems VERY dangerous and unnatural. Overall the animation is pleasing and well planned.

Mike Courtney:

The eyebrows timing is a bit quick. The gestures with the knife and end pose are well done.

Ryan King:

I don't really buy the change of emotion. It seems too sudden. She is angry one moment then after a quick breathe she is really sad. I think it is too much for 10 secs. If it was sad to sadder, I think it would be alittle more beleivable for the time frame. It is very smooth though.

Teju Aloysius:

Hey this is nice.there is a nice -character-. The action on "town" i think it hits a bit late. And the "eyebrow change" just before "LIFE" can b done with a slight head down movement . taking the knife from screen left can move in down arc , i think it will give more fluidity. that slicing part is very nice
Well done.

Daniel Broverman:

Nice, simple. Like the subtle animation on the hand holding the knife. Her brow line at the end looks broken, bring down the inner tip of the right brow a bit to give it a nice curve. She's gonna chop off her fingers cutting like that. Take a look at a few chefs on tv, they tend to cut from the back of the knife forwards. Also the hand placement on the salami's a little funny. All in all good stuff, creative.

Erik Griott:

right after the sigh the change in facial expression seems a little weird.
shes pretty daring to cut that beet with her eyes closed

luis veiga pumar:

lipsinc is very good, body movement is good.

the only thing that is strange is the way she cuts and holds the tomato, weight as she cuts it feels to light, as though shes cutting nothing.

Christiaan Moleman:

Nice secondary action. The facial expressions could involve more of the whole face, though.

Dylan Maxwell:

i find the knife menacing. That's cool. I enjoy the activity of cutting as a sort of every day. The slice seems odd gesturally.

Carlos Fins:

The first part of this is going along great.. what feels off to me is the mechanics of the slice. You end with a great facial expression and pose, I would probably suggest dropping the slicing motion all together.. doesn't seem to add much to the point of the piece. Good work!

Florent Perrin:

The cut mouvement is quite strange and unnatural, no?
Rest is kind of cool...

Jett Atwood:

The beginning is pretty good with some good gestures with the knife but it falls apart for me at the end with the second important bit of dialogue.
Internally she realizes at the moment she's saying it she's desperately unhappy with her entire life. That's a huge realization that requires some sublety of acting so going straight to pose of cutting the tomato, it sort of rings false to me.
It doesn't feel like she's THINKING/REALIZING so much as going through a generic motion.
