Danny Garnett:
Really good animation. He moves a little bit too much when he is talking about "stoping for a moment". I love the lighter take that you took, works good!
David Humphreys:
superb! the lyp sync is a little blurry but other than that its brilliant
Carlos Fins:
Ha! Nice! Frame 43.. nice head tilt before "you're talking about.." overall really nice body and facial expressions. Nice work!
Rich Lauzon:
This is pretty strong. Probably my favorite. not because of the FX but because of the acting and facial expressions. I'd get a bit of a stronger reaction on FG guy when the letter is set on fire.
P Walters:
I can't quite put my finger on it. It seems like he never stops moving, or maybe it's that some of the movements seem awkward, like the left elbow. It might help to define and hold the key poses. The mouth movement seems a bit strange but the blocking is good and I like some of the facial expressions.
Dave H Shovlin:
Good work. I might soften that bounce during "iplications" but the performance is otherwise solid.
Yeray Díaz Díaz:
Nice job on the idea. The character moves waay too much though and the lypsync really needs some work.
Jett Atwood:
Fun! Good posing..let him settle into them a little bit...he feels a little mushy.
Frank Collazo:
nice render nice gesture
miles southan:
Great work! You really need to go through and look at your arcs though. From 8 to 17 for instance, the nose follows a straight line. It's also very noticeable from 130-140ish. Your fingers could use some offsetting as well on "wait." Also, it seems like your using the head in world mode and not local. That's fine to do of course, but you have to make sure the head's always still relating to what the body's doing.
jeff beck:
gestures were nice but you need a little more work done on the lip sync
C. J. Cow:
wow this is pretty good, but i dunno if i like the framing too much
Santiago Arellano:
Great idea, I think the character's action could be toned down a bit, especially when he lights the lighter and when he takes the envelope.
Theo Edmands:
Nice work! The "take" at the beginning is particularly nice, as well as the casual toss at the end.
Virgil Mihailescu:
cooool! but why burn it??
the animation looks great, very expressive. 2 comments - when he grabs the letter, he could do it more... swiftly :D with a more determined move. and the whole acting around the letter-burning is a little strange... th beginning of the shot is awesome. the eye darts and all. hehe. great stuff!
Missy Feaster:
Fun! Minor tweaking on the lipsynch needed, but otherwise fantastic bit of animation!
Matt:
lip sinc could use work
Chris Smith:
Good rendering work. This is the best render I've seen so far.
I like the acting, but it is definitley overdone too much. The right guy's movements could be toned down a bit. Too many large, sweeping motions, which makes the animation a bit hard to follow in parts.
Good acting and poses, though.
Good choice of camera angle too. Over the shoulder definitely works here.
A good effort overall, but the overdone gestures let it down.
Traci Plagmann:
Nice job! The lipsync looks a little off to me at "mail". The gestures are clean and easy to read and the timing is great.
Christopher Lutz:
Nice animation and setup. Lip syncing is a bit mushy.
Dan Dulberger:
Body moves perhaps slightly too fast and lightly. Very good though and nice touch with the head tilt (f170).
Eastwood:
good except the lypsynch
Ryan Glovka:
Definitely some polish could be added yet, but nice job overall. Nice, simple layout and the ending was cool!! Great Job!
Bilal Ahmad:
a good smooth effort...
Kevin Gun:
Good timing and acting! It would be great if the lipsync could be more accurate...
Alison K. Sanders:
nice work! You've got some good gesturees in there and some solid mechanics. I also like the staging of it all, and the way you've dealt with the senerio. Very likable.
Your lipsync could use a bit more work, you seem to be hiting every single syllable. Try going back in & getting the open & close of the mouth working muppet-style and then adding in the lip shapes where it's needed, mostly on the m's b's & p's, and pulling out the corners a bit more for the ee's & ah's.
Gabe Dill:
i love the head tilt on "ethical"... super stuff.
Gregory Marlow:
Awesome. I wish the lip sync were closer though.
Jennifer Anaya:
very nice resolution! i haven't seen this ending yet. Can I just say I love his head toss when he says "ethical". nice smooth animation too. job well done!
Freddy Burgos:
Really great job here! I really like the point and head nod portion during "consider the ethical..." line. One thing stands out to me and its the gesture when he grabs the envelope. The extreme part of that gesture, it looks like something is going on with the arm/shoulder area. Otherwise, really great clip! Keep it up!
Aaron Clement:
Nice, I like the ending. Good idea using depth of field. The guy lighting it at the end was nice... good last expression, too... suited the delivery well. Some of the actions felt late, though. The little wavy action he does near the end pulled me out of the performance... didn't come across as sincere. Bottom line, great ending!
Ryan Hagen:
Nice work, the grab felt a bit awkward, the elbow leading everthing feels a bit off. I liked the staging alot, keep it up.
vic:
nice work....
Taber Dunipace:
This is one of the best animations I've seen so far for this contest. The animation quality is good and the expressions and gestures are pleasing. I'm not so sure about the acting choice at the end. I see what's happening, but I don't really understand why. Still a good piece of animation though.
Roshan.k:
nice acting..nice poses..a bit of floating in movements here and there but decent stuff.. liked it!
David Shum:
wow nice work
I love the head twitch on "ethical"
and the huge antic, after antic, for turning on the lighter.
Usually rendering is gravy, but i think the depth blur really helped keep our focus on the main character.
nice work man.
A little floaty during 25-72
But didn't feel that till 3rd time watching it.
Josh Doohen:
Beautiful man!
Victor Wong:
Good facial expression and syncing. Timing of the gestures is spot on.
Jônatas Kerr de Oliveira:
poor lipsynch and emotional reactions
Scott Farrell:
why does he light the mail on fire and throw it? Its nice animation and a cool effect but it doesnt support the dialogue at all. I like the head move on ethchical. The character needs to follow the rythym of the dialogue better. Think of the highs and lows of diaalogue as a wave and have the character ride that somewhat (by no means am I saying EXACTLY because you shouldnt). The FG guy looks sweet, right ammount of animation on him. Great work!
David J Harmon:
ha this is a good one
Mike Courtney:
The foreground character is kept alive, but doesn't seem to be engaged in whats going on. While the animation is smooth, the poses could be stronger.
Anthony Travieso:
I think there to much movement going on after the line " youre talking about opening someone elses mail". Hit a pose and let it read for a bit. I think it would add some texture to the shot. Great work!
Christiaan Moleman:
I like the "wait" acting but the lip sync overall seems a bit wonky. And the head tilt around 170 feels too big and fast.

Animator: Jamie Giger
Description: This is not the first time I've animated but it is the first true lip sync I have ever done! I was on vacation the first two weeks of the month but I think my animation turned out pretty well for my first dialog animation piece.
