Description: The idea I was going for is that Bupkis was an actual guy, and .. well.. he was kidnapped.

Experience: A lot of Game Experience, not much stuff like this.

Time taken: started late .. just worked on it after work.

Koty Juliano:

very good movement, but almost to good to not match the audio, hold on poses longer than quick gestures.

Zainab Siddiqui:

I absolutely love the bound guy!

Pablo Smith:

the idea was really good! But the characters seem to be constantly moving. I think it would be good to add some moving holds.

Shawn Savage:

thats great, i really like what you did

Paulo Silva:

you've created a nice situation, i just don't like the movement of the guy with the knife between frames 235~310.. but the third guy is realy funny :)

Ken Rice:

Very natural animation - a lot of character coming through - I like this one a lot. Well done.

Joanne Ku:

I think you are doing a great job here! Every character has his moves. The only thing I would suggest is to tame down one of the character’s hand swings. But that’s just my opinion. Great job!

Ryan Lowe:

heh. the guy and the knife. groovy. good man. good.

dan alvarez:

Nice job on this one.

Very smooth animation. Nice.. but just a bit *too* smooth.
What this piece really needs is stronger moving holds, to make things a bit snappier.
Good job!

Jean-Luc Delhougne:

Not bad.. I really like the first 200 frames, they have nice subtle moves and the acting is pretty good. The rest feels a bit more rushed to me.

Paulo Cesar Biajante:

Very expressive! really good!

Mariah:

Nice movement!

Virgil Tanasa:

very floaty... it could have been really nice if you would have held some poses, make them a bit stronger, and try not to repeat gestures on the tied up guy. nice idea! :)

Andy Wakeley:

Cool situation and staging, and I like the acting choices. In parts the animation seems a little too watery, too floaty though. I'd work on that a bit and this will be even better :)

Taber Dunipace:

But... they don't have bupkiss (nothing), they have a hostage to negotiate with...

Concept aside, I like the way these guys move, they have a lot of character. Acting is a bit overdone but this is still strong overall.

James O'Neill:

I think overall it is a good work. There is some great overlap and secondary action, but I feel that there is not enough held poses. It seems a bit swimmy, too smooth. Think about putting more snap in, to strengthen the contrast between poses and actions. Watch out for twinning as well. I suggest being more subtle with your poses, it feels a bit over acted. Great job.

John T. Coomey:

firstly.. great job.. but watch your cuts they are very similar. Throw in a close up to mix it up a bit.. there is some really nice motion in there but it lacks contrst in the movements timing wich is making it very flowing..

again good job

Joe Garhan:

your motion isn't bad but you have a number of acting choices that really take away from your piece. Try no to do thing literally with what the dialogue is saying. and also don't point on key words people don't really do that when talking.

sean connolly:

This is a really funny piece of animation. The performance of the gray guy especially. really good use of prop. there's a few minor ik pops on the guy in dark gray. and the dialogue as a whole seems like it needs it's coming to late for the audio. maybe just move it up a 2 frames or so. great job though.

JD van der Merwe:

It works relatively well, only falling down in some of the poses not hitting their marks.

Michael Vandenhoven:

I like it but I felt that I didn't know where to look.

Louis Ng:

Nice, smooth animation!

I have a comment to make: the guy near the phone, when he says "cut a deal", his gesture doesnt read properly. I have to rewind twice to get what he is doing. Maybe a better pose will make it more readable.

Russell:

This is lovely work. Good idea, good acting and staging, and good overlap.

Small hand movements are the only critique. The hand on the hip of character on the left seems to float a bit, and his hand on the desk pops off a little when he begins to stand.

Erik Westlund:

Well, espionage and kidnapping/unlawful imprisonment or something. Not murder. You have this funny relationship between victim and character on screen right. The knife gag is funny. But I don't know that it relates to the audio. Nice loose and relaxed movement. These characters inhabit their own skin. Backwards bend in reaction for screen right character hits a limit like a coiled spring and bounces back; lacks weight found in most everything else.

barak drori:

all in all, very fine peace of animation, the problem is, you miss a bit character animation, I belive. but you know how to animate that for sure!

Joseph Rivers:

Nice stuff. It'd be stronger if the victim turned back and gave a bigger head nod at "now" to the knife guy. It'd sell his anxiety better.

Sergey B.:

Nice idea :))

Nolan:

The acting looks pretty good, at 255 the thug on the right his action looks a little awkward . I understand what you are doing but I think you should spend a little more time with it.

Good work

Jonathan Paquin:

Good effort, you got some good acting going on but it feels a bit "floaty". Could use a bit more pauses instead of having the characters move all the time.

Romain Digonnet:

I really like the thing going on with the kidnapped guy and the kidnapper with his knife...
Really good animation except the "all the more", I wouldn'at have him put his hand in the air like that, it feels weird.

Bill:

Some really nice, fluid motion in there. Perhaps I'm way off here, but I thought you perhaps relied too much on video reference.

Phillip Johnson:

Knife guys reacts too soon on the "all the more reason"
Left guys knees pop when he steps, better weight shifting needed.
I like your drag and settle and the middle guys reactions are nice but a bit over done, maybe less knife jumps and head nods.

Avner Engel:

Nice work at keeping the characters alive!

jonas bech:

the story is so Great and fun love it

Andrew Shipp:

The hostage's reactions are funny, good job. When the knife guy throws his head back at 240, it seems a little too exaggerated. He does the same motion at 100, so it needs to be pushed farther than that one to show an increase in frustration, but maybe a little less that it is now.

jeff:

good job

Ken Vass:

floaty animation - needs holds...staging could use work also

jonathan fontaine:

wow like the balance of the guy with the knife

Lianna Scrimger:

not bad, some good attention to detail, but you lose the character on screen left a bit frames 100-160. It seems like he's just waiting for the other guy to talk instead of being actively engaged. Good work though, some of the gestures are great!

Brian Boswell:

Great acting choices. Very nice reactions from Bupkus.

Virgil Mihailescu:

I like the acting, the fluidity in the animation and the cinematic quality. great job!!!

Paul Vicol:

I love the center guy looking back and forth at the vilans, and nodding his head at certain things!
It adds a bit of comedy to the serious situation.
