Jamie:
nice characters
Russell:
One thing to remember when animating is that you are animating. You are accentuating the situation, not replicating live action. This audio clip has to very distinct personalities that should have two different acting styles on screen. The choices you made in your animation seem to have no tempo. Because the audio clip varies in tempo, your animation should have certain beats. You hit a couple when the fat guy throws the object into the trunk and when the skinny guy says "Now!". Those parts have actions set to the audio that give a nice tempo.
Your overlap is nice, some good soft accents on the hands. The lip sync is way overdone for the style of acting. The characters movements dont move quickly, so the lip sync should match how they move. At some points, you are lip synching to every syllable. Avoid doing this.
Nice job!
Joseph Leung:
The characters feel too stiff to me. I like your staging of the characters and the environment, car trunk, and camera views.
Jeffrey Dekker:
cool models
Gregory Marlow:
Very stiff spines.
Brandon:
Nice render. I don't think it makes up for the lack of motion though.
Jon Houston:
Very small action, broaden it and smooth it out
chrisbyk:
I like the idea. But it looks like the characters don't really mean what they re saying. That may be due to their lack of convincing facial expression
Mariah:
Nice facial movement, but their bodies are practically stationary.
Ryan Lowe:
decent lighting.
Erik Westlund:
Nice models. Easy to see a difference between the two. Love the pot belly and love handles. Very appropriate environment, textures, and lighting... but, that's not what this forum is about, is it?
Most of your acting is subdued to match the naturalistic appeal of your models. Unfortunately, you are primarily animating the hands and arms. You have some nice touches applied to head with tilts and such, and the lip-sync is very well timed. The dialog is an intense exchange so direct eye contact is appropriate, but your characters are giving each other a death stare... no shifts, glances, or eye-darts. Very little use of eyebrows as well. Screen left character is using awkward poses that do not feel genuine. Screen right character seems more authentic but is still to stiff.
Ceno:
great
Ken Rice:
Pretty good animation - a little stiff though. I don't think enough work has been put into believable body language. I think too much time may have been spent on lip sync which looks a little labored.
Taber Dunipace:
These characters are too detailed to be posed so simply. Remember, the more realistic or complex the characters, the more nuanced the performance must be to keep the illusion of life.
"With what!?" is the strongest part of the animation.
Koty Juliano:
where did you get those models? I want them.
Adam Clark:
I think that too much attention was put towards setting up the stage and lighting, more attention to the acting is needed
lizzie:
man slides at t end. and the lipsync doesn't look as though they are actually talking.
James O'Neill:
The characters seem plastic. I would use more facial animation, like cheek distortion, eye animation, and brow movement to really push the characters emotions. Right now I just feel like both characters are just reading a script, a simple read through, no emotional acting. Also, loosen up the body by animating the neck, shoulders, and back more. It just feels too rigid.
Alexis St-Laurent:
The base poses are good, but it needs more movement with the whole body to emphasize what is said.
Traci Plagmann:
I like the look of the characters. Their movements are pretty stiff and limited though. See if you can get them moving around and loosened up more.
Rusty Gray:
Digging the render and both characters looks. The animation though could use some more polish. The camera cut and hand movement when the suit guy points feels awkward. I think because the camera cuts after the finger is already pointed...and when he points down its needs to be snappier...to make it more authoritative. The gray shirt guy's arm movement to the dead body also seems off. Seems too fast. Instead try holding pose with the hand open and the head tilted down towards the body and slowly pulling away. Hope this helps, keep animating!
Sam Caudill:
great lip-sync. Needs more body language though
Pablo Piccione:
Mouth move a bit odd. More expressions... Nice characters
David Humphreys:
great work, just some polishing really, a bit of overlapping motion would be nice and get some blinks in there, the second half does come off like a staring contest. awesome keep it up!
Andrew Farrell:
The faces could use some more expression!
Jonathan Paquin:
Dont forget to add blinks!!
Ken Vass:
characters lack character
Elisa:
hhmm, this might sound strange, but I miss them blinking a bit, This way they look more alive.
And at frame 168, they guy could move more the eyebrows to give more intensity why the says 'now'
Steve Brown:
When doing lip-sync its best to just stick to more simple vowls rather than keying every letter. The mouth moves a little too fast so maybe try simplifying the phonemes and holding on the M,P,B's.
James:
Seems odd without blinking...
I like your characters though
jeff:
good characters but need more acting
