Description: I added the grainy effect to give it that old movie feel.... I hope it doesn't distract too much from the animation,

Enjoy.

Jason Smith:

What's with that x-mas tree?

NICK D:

I love the old style movie look. It really adds to the effect & seems like thats where the audio clip comes from. Nice work

Daniel Huertas:

need you improve your body mechanics and your timing was too tight for me.. keep it up

Tom Law:

This is good, I like the way she picks up the cake, the only problem is that the male character is skating around a bit when he walks

Emmanuel:

I like your style of animation on this. Funny how Mrs. Munchnik reacts to the fruitcake. Awesome work!

Aaron Clement:

Nice man. This has come a long way since I sore it in the forums... nice style with the film grain. Still felt poppy with the animation... and a little cliche at times... but I definitly noticed the improvement from before!

Erik Westlund:

Too many straight lines in poses! Spine, arms, neck & head, eyebrows, hands, should all have implied curves. The 'poppy' quality of the movement is getting in the way. Post effect of film grain needs to be supported buy a convincing "1963" world as seen through an 8mm camera, otherwise loose it. Fist pump on "Yess.... " is hidden inside the silhouette of character. It is also out of step with genre (if I've got you right on that one). Why have the male character make that complicated walk into the room. Too much work with no real pay-off. Everything that happens in a shot should answer some kind of "why?" question.

Johan Fruh:

Nice work, I like the basic poses and storytelling :).
Here are my couple of critiques ;):

- Maybe make him start off closer to the old lady. So he would have had more time to give her the cake. With this distance, you had to make him walk very fast, and throw the fruit cake. Never do that to a fruit cake!
- The lipsynch. You only used mouth openings that would be appropriate for the sound "AH".
Making them talk like puppets.
-The old lady moves her head too much when she talks in my opinion.
-The ending is maybe a bit too strong compared to the context.

Chris Sacco:

animation is really jumpy.

Sunny Kharbanda:

The staging is a little awkward, and the film scratches seem out of place given the lighting and color scheme of the piece. His walk is somewhat stiff and lacks weight.

Tim Nowak:

If you are going for a stopmotion look here like the old days, Well Done! I like how it shows the oldness of the film wearing out over the years. its really nice. but only if the theme is stop mortion animation like clay models.

Taber Dunipace:

The characters are flailing around like they're having seizures, keep their motions simple and under control.

sharad kumar:

its a lil bit jerky while he walks in..keep workin!

lizzie:

lip sync??

Marco Roberts:

its a bit dramatic and the walk cycle at the beggining is extreme.

HARISH:

the walk is jerky, even the lips syncs off. but good overall .. I like the look u've given to the scene

Richard Clark:

Way too choopy!

Dave H Shovlin:

Hmm. I don't think I've ever seen someone try this before. I might have done it in black and white or sepiatone but that's not what we're judging here. The animation fits the visual style quite nicely. As does the overacting. The toss is nicely done but I might have just put it down.

Dan Harriman:

She does look disappointed with the gift mostly because of the eyes I think. Watch the lip syncing though. People don't open their jaws all the way with every word they speak. In fact check out the finalists for this clip and you'll notice that Mrs Munchnik hardly open her mouth at all. Good effort!
