Ken Rice:
Nice composition and render, but the lipsync looks out.
Daniel Huertas:
very nice choice of acting but i think it was too safe for the competition.... i also don't see where she realises or looks to the fruitcake to be able to say her line at the end... and if you would have had the male character in the scene it would have suit the secondary actions on him better than on her.. nice job tho
Jeff Kim:
I like the animation, but it seemed odd to me that the other character was never shown. I think it could have worked with one character, if we actually see the fruitcake (perhaps just the hands of the man placing the fruitcake on the desk). I really like her subtle take after he says "merry christmas.."
luc:
Like to see at least cake coming into shot, or his shadow. But very nice.
Steve Clarke:
I like the start when shes distracted. But found she made too many grand movements considering how relaxed she is at the beginning. Too much of a contrast in 11 seconds.
Emmanuel Vergne:
i don't know where she's looking : first she seems to look off screen (at her left) to another character, but at the end she's looking at her right, so i don't really understand what it is about : is she speaking to someone who is in the room with her ? If yes where is he ? Is she speaking to herself ?
Chris Sacco:
The dialogue needs a second character. The woman is well done, but it loses impact because the scene is about an exchange of a gift, and we never see the gift or the giver.
Mariya Kalachova:
Nice animation, I don't really get how it goes with the dialogue, it's still really good though.
Taber Dunipace:
Interesting but this is really less of a story and more of a showcase of motion. Try to get inside the character's head and think about how they feel about the situation.
Erik Westlund:
The performance starts off very strong but the character motivation/point-of-view jumps track quickly. Character performance starts off as bored, pensive, and distracted. Ends with coy and/or thoughtful... why? Breaks continuity. No fruitcake in the shot (or is it?) makes the whole performance a little 'abstract'. Is it an actual fruitcake, or just the thought of one to which she is reacting.
Frank G:
Nice pencil roll and fruitcake point. I liked this one very much.
HARISH:
Good one. I would have liked it more if the guy was in the screen as well .
chia:
Very sweet and nice animation. I just find that the last pose is a bit not suitable for her action.
I was thinking if the shadow could show the guy's action will be great.other wise it's really great. Jst my thought.
cheers,
Chia
Pablo Piccione:
I think that the lip sync needs a little bit more. Good work anyway
sharad kumar:
i am not sure whether she is looks at the cake..where is the cake???
Paulo Clayton:
Good acting, but hard to determine her focal point to the other character and the fruitcake itself, wherever.
Dan Dulberger:
She should look at however shes talking to more than just once. The viewer guesses were that person is when she stares for the first time. Then, because her eyes never return to that spot the viewer is unsure whether there was ever anyone there at all.
Aaron Jonas:
Lipsync is off a little
Andrew Stovesand:
Good subtle stuff. I think I would like to see her reacting to the fruitcake...
Matthew Simkins:
This is a really good effort but is let down by the lip syncing.
Ron Toole:
I liked that her attitude suggested that she was underwhelmed by the gift.
Renn:
Subtle movements in this animation really works, especially her head bobbing slightly against the back of her hand as she talks.
Very well animated.
Max Herzfeld:
You've got a nice piece but there are two things I would have liked to see added. At the moment she sees the "fruitcake" she makes no change of facials, no let down, no susspicion, I coudn't even tell she saw it except that she started talking about it. A moment there would have added alot. Also to end, instead of having her stair at the ceiling, it would have been more engaging if gave the guy a "look" like isn't that right, a smug kind of try and weisel your way out of this. That would have llead to the next moment with energy if the scene were to go on. Both of those could have raised the bar for your animation, but good work, keep at it.
Mike B:
nice motion and timing. I like how she looks down in reflection but perhaps her point would be stronger if she looked back up to her left. The lip sync seemed slightly off at the end
sean:
Very nice animation. Expressions and gestures seem to fight the sound though.
Aaron Clement:
Was God speaking? I liked the subtleness. It felt sincere, too... You just lost me... I didn't know where the voice was comming from... Maybe a ray of light if it was God, would have helped... If a guy in front of her... then at the least a shadow casting over her... something to stage it so we know to whom she's talking too. At the end of the day, nice render and setting... and some nice sincerity in there.
Ben Hammersley:
i would re work the eye directions and some of the hand gestures.
Lisa Taylor:
I would have liked to have seen more expression of sarcasm in the last line, but other than that it looks great, nice one.
