maybe I should have left the big guy out as he's only been roughly (very roughly) blocked in.

C. J. Cow:

very cool. i thought the fat dude was a bit weak in comparison.

Micah Betts:

Poses seem to come too close to the point that words are said, I think they should transition into each other a bit smoother. Also animation near the end needs more polish, a lot of parts are completely stationary.

Jason Pennington:

very strong entry. solid animation principles. There are a couple gestures that might be unneccessary. Her right hand on "resist it" is probably doing something more literal than it needs to be. And her hand-on-chest gesture around frame 160 doesn't really seem to be serving a purpose, beyond giving her something to do. A little simplification would make this a stronger entry. Still, it's a stellar job. the best I've seen so far.

Christopher Sosa:

Not quite sure about the ending.

Alonso Soriano:

a little to pose to pose-y. I think it's a little to blunt to be illustrating the give into this or resist it, especially the resist part. He's really not necessary.

Carlos Fins:

I recommend cutting the end. Definitely not necessary, it pulls from her acting. frames one 121-128 I'd drop the stop sign hand as well. Great stuff going on in the beginning, and the pose frame 90ish. Good job!

David Ruzicka:

Good idea, I just thing you got too much movement going on here.

Eric Huang:

Good stuff! Nice motion.

My only crits are that it feels to pose-to-pose-to-pose for me. The pose on 127 doesn't do it for me. It's out of character.

Tom Law:

I really like how you have the guy eating, particularly when he wipes his lips with his finger.

Nathaniel Villanueva:

fun ending. you have some great movement going on but it seems to wiz by so fast that i cant really take it in. anticipation is awesome, but you seem to do it on every little movement. dont get caught up on the details too much. watch for the main action, and be aware of the arcs of the head. it seems a little messy in the beginning. the ending is great when shes looking at him

Tyler Phillips:

This might need a blink on frame 79 and 104 when her head is moving. Like what you did around frame 19. Nice acting but gross and funny ending.

Cole Higgins:

your animating the the dialogue and not to what shes thinking. It comes off as stale and like shes not thinking.

Eric Scheur:

This is looking really nice! :) You have some good acting choices, and the way you hit and settle into your poses feels really comfortable. Very nice!

I think that there may be places where you could cut down on some of your poses, just to make it less busy.... For example, the pose on 58 feels a little overdramatic... And then you have the poses on 67, 99, and 121 following pretty fast with each other. All of that might be able to be combined into one strong pose. Another thing about the pose on 121 is that it feels more like she's demonstrating her dialogue than actually acting from her emotions... this can make the animation feel more like a 'performance' than believable acting.

I also like the idea of the cut--but rather than have it cut in after the dialogue, like a punchline, I'd be curious to see how it feels if you cut to the second shot somewhere around 147 or 150, and have her finish delivering her line while we see the man she's talking to.

Good luck in the next month's competition!

Paul:

too many poses

Aaron Clement:

Good ening. I like the crossed arms. A bit pose to pose and cliche with the acting.

Michael Li:

I think there is too many emphasis on too many things in this piece.

Yeray Díaz Díaz:

The last bit I didn't like. The first part looks good but the poses are too forced, overacted maybe.

garvey harris:

great performance, but when referring to the other person it got weak, was suggestive or directive enough for me, but thats down to interpretation and not your animating skills

Dan Dulberger:

The stop gesture was abit unnatural. Otherwise nice animation.

Mike Pinkin:

Haha, the face of the large guy reminds me of a friend of mine. You've covered the clip well, and very dramatically. Like an eccentric self-righteous Shakespearean actor.

Ezra Allen:

that last shot .. thats one scarry looking red neck !

David Humphreys:

your poses are a bit over the top and your having a new explanitory pose on every beat. you have good motion and good arcs but try and make it a little more subtle.

Simon Bean:

Woah that guy's creepy;)
Some lovely stuff here, love the first "moment". IMO the "resist it" pose is un-natural. You're falling into the trap of illustrating the word instead of acting it. Love her final pose. Hope that helps :)

Mike Courtney:

Movements are a bit jerky on girl, girl is a statue when fat man on screen. Fat man needs at least a cube to rest his arm on.

Felix:

not bad acting work, very good body language and hands expression. what i don't like is, that the expression of the character is a bit cold and stiff not so fitting to the voices mood - but the animation is very good :)

Phillip Moon:

Good body and facial acting.

Sean Graham:

The only thing holding this back is the cliche gestures. Other than that, this is pretty darn good.

Taber Dunipace:

I like the animation quality mostly, but there are a lot of pops in the movement and sudden actions which need anticipations. The acting is very strange, with a lot of unnatural, though logical gestures which kill the believability.

Bilal Ahmad:

good work man!

Christiaan Moleman:

The resist gesture is too literal.

Virgil Mihailescu:

not bad, although the fat boy's animation is pretty ruff. the right hand gesture on "I can resist it" seems a little too much. looks overall slightly overanimated and ruff, could use more work.

Alexis St-Laurent:

Some movements need to be smoothed and I would have skipped the end.

Gregory Marlow:

good

Victor Wong:

Good timing on the gestures and lip sync. Volume may need a little double-checking due to the constant head movement.

Andy van Straten:

the ending ruined it!!
