C. J. Cow:
i dont know if i m 2 crazy about the camera choice... feels like this clip is begging for a closer shot
Micah Betts:
Interesting acting choice. Drop the knees was a bit too quick, and I'm not so sure about her pointing pose at the end
David Humphreys:
I dont like your acting choice much for the guy walking in.
You could have him walking in earlier because it takes too long to realise what she's upset about. Your motions have some good weight to them but you need to work more on your staging.
bruno hamzagic:
i felt strange about the timing between the guy pass through the door and she begin to talk.
The scene looks like far all the time. Maybe you cold be tried some closes or other camera tricks.
Francisco Martinez:
I think that her performance was too dramatic (ie. falling to the ground). It didn't seem to coincide with the dialogue.
Tom Law:
I really like the animation on the drunk guy.
Mark Dickie:
Some nice acting. The shot is maybe a bit wide for such an emotional piece, it would have been nice to see some facial expressions. But the body acting is lively and descriptive.
Eric Scheur:
Nice work! I like the concept--and I especially like how she drops to the floor on that big sob. :)
It looks like the things that need the most work here are your body mechanics--paying attention to how the body moves, and how it holds still, where things will drift to a stop and how they start moving again... Look at some live action reference to get good ideas about these things.
The other thing I notice is the staging--think about how your staging plays into or detracts from the audio you're given. We feel like we're really far away from this woman here... she's really tiny in the screen, which makes her feel distanced and we're not really emotionally connected to her. I think it might even work better if you had the camera 180 desgrees from where it is now, so that we see her really close up and get the guy far in the distance, so we feel an emotional connection to her, and an emotional distance from him.
Keep up the good work! I look forward to seeing next month's entry!
Cole Higgins:
cool concept but im not really quite sure why she is acting that way. her acting doesnt really seem to fit the dialogue.
Tyler Phillips:
The animation is drifting a bit. The shot is so wide it's difficult to see her face.
Aaron Clement:
Okay don't have the moving holds move as much as you do here. Feels a bit extreme with the girl dropping to the floor... not sure why she does that. Try working in pose more.
Yeray Díaz Díaz:
Nice set. The acting is a bit excesive for the clip. The camera is waaay to far to see any expresiveness.
Ezra Allen:
Ok when she falls on her knees you need a lot more bounce here, its very flat and sharp at the mo. I think the crawling is also a bit much.
garvey harris:
good acting, very dramatic
Michael Richard:
Couldn't really see the lipsynch, because the shot was so far away. It took me 2 views to tell that the guy coming in the door was drunk. Maybe having him fall flat on his face in the end could have livened up the piece.
Dan Dulberger:
Very odd scene. Trying to disregard the rest of the scene the animation is quite decent. Bet she hurt her knees though.
Brandon Ayers:
Timing could use some work. Nice poses.
Simon Bean:
OK, crit; what's the guy doing?? Very odd pose. The clip doens't sound like it's the first thing you'd say as someone enters a room. You'll find it hard to translate emotion from such a wide angle- can hardly see the lipsync. Think about how this would have been treated in a film (now that you've done it go back and watch 'closer') and think about how next time you can make the character act more convincingly. Hope this helps :) Good try
Mike Courtney:
The left foot settles twice in the turn. For as hard as she falls to the ground, she doesn't show that in her upper body. It needs more overlapping and perhaps going forward a bit initially before recovering herself.
Felix:
hmmm... strange acting, to unrealistic. animation need a lot of work.
Erik Griott:
i think the other character is too distracting. im waiting for him to be falling over, or puking, or anything, but he just stands there wobbling, half cut off by the door, leaving me hangin', and then i dont even focus on the girl. when i force myself to watch her, i think her animation is very good, but since this is a whole scene, i think it could use more. also, i think the whole scene seems a little rushed. she doesnt even notice the guy before she starts ranting at him, already emotional about the situation. if you added some time to show how she gets that way, or maybe that he was already standing in the doorway instead of bursting in, it would help a lot.
Phillip Moon:
Actions to fit the dialog, even given the scene. Drop to the knees was too fast. Couldn't get a feel for the emotion and couldn't see the face.
Taber Dunipace:
Nice try giving her a progression, but this really does get very unrealistic. You should try to film yourself doing the lines over and over in a way that you feel is natural until you get a take you like.
Sean Graham:
Really like that there's a well though out scenario. I think she just needs some tightening up as far as how and when she gets into and out of her poses. Her arms are kind of distracting and floaty. For a shot this wide, her body language needs to be super clear.
Carlos Fins:
My suggestion here would be to work on your balance. When the girl character gets on her knees, it looks as if she is about to topple over. Her head jerk into her hands is really fast, too.
Gregory Marlow:
AHHHHH!!! CURSED FINGER POINT. I hate the finger point. everyone is doing it. And no one ever does it in real life.
Jeranimo:
Okay!
Alonso Soriano:
very low power body language from her, even though her lines seem pretty high power.
Victor Wong:
There seems to be a jump as the character falls into the pose immediatedly after the sob. Otherwise, timing of the gestures and lip sync are okay.
Bilal Ahmad:
nice effort!
